I've always loved David Attenborough's enthusiastic orations on the wonders of the nature. I came across a tv episode where D.A documented the Vogelkop Bowerbird. I was struck by the formal and aesthetic decisions this bird makes with found natural and man made materials to decorate it's nesting environment. The correlation with human installation art is uncanny.
I collected the materials for this work from council run household clean-up collections in the streets of inner eastern suburbs of Sydney.
This artwork is both a homage to Sir David Attenborough and to the Vogelkop Bowerbird.
