Justin Henderson grew up at the bottom of the world in Tasmania. He currently resides in Sydney. He makes art as a way to express and explore emotional and analytical responses, and a confusion felt of living in a world that can feel highly atomised, where the disconnect between human constructed environments and source natural environments can appear vast.

Through an amalgam of media including sculpture, video and 2D work, he builds expanded installation environments that playfully engage with content based on patterns discovered in modes of socio-cultural organisation and production. He is interested in revealing or hinting toward relationships between the manifestation of socio-cultural forms and underpinning factors, i.e. economic, political and geographical.

Alongside work that interrogates social-cultural fabric, he makes work that explores a reverential representation of vital forces that exist in nature. Such forces that have often been exploited, ignored and disrespected in the pursuit of human (patriarchal | capitalist) endeavours.
